  • VISITOR SITE SAFETY INDUCTION

    In the interests of your safety, and the safety of others, we request that you take the time to thoroughly read, and understand this Site Safety Induction. If any of the information is unclear, please ask an IMS Representative.

    Upon arrival, all visitors are required to;

    1. Proceed to the Reception area, to sign on to the Visitor’s Register,
    2. Receive the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to access the Workshop, and
    3. Always remain with, and follow any reasonable direction provided by the IMS Representative.

     

    When departing all IMS facilities, we request that you sign out of the Visitor’s Register.

     

    Signing in and out of the Visitor’s Register is essential. In the event of an emergency evacuation, it allows ourselves, and Emergency Services to ensure all persons have been accounted for, in a timely manner.

  • Safe Walk Areas

    As our workshop is a fast paced, and busy environment, we ask that you remain with an IMS Representative at all times. While you are in the workshop, please be mindful of Mobile Plant, and always give way to all mobile plant.

    Mobile Plant

    Mobile Plant including, but not limited to Vehicles, Forklifts, Overhead Gantry Cranes, and Elevating Work Platforms have right of way at all IMS facilities. Actively keep watch for Mobile Plant, and ensure positive communication is maintained with Mobile Plant, and vehicle operators.

    Personal Protective Equipment

    All visitors who enter the Workshop area must at all times wear the correct PPE consisting of;

    • High visibility vest,
    • Long sleeve shirt,
    • Long trousers,
    • Steel cap boots,
    • AS/NZS rated clear safety glasses,
    • Class 5 ear plugs.

    Safety and Advisory Signs

    Various signage is displayed at all IMS facilities, which exist for the safety of all persons. Please observe and obey the provided instruction.

    Smoking

    There are designated outdoor smoking areas at all IMS facilities. Please use ashtrays provided for discarded cigarette butts.

    Parking

    Parking of cars is only permitted in the designated parking area, or on-street parking, at the owner’s risk. IMS car park speed is limit is 5km/h. Car parking in the lane way, and driveway is not permitted. Mobile Plant which may operate in the parking area has right of way.

    Children and Pets

    Due to the hazardous nature of all IMS facilities, we regret that children and pets are not permitted on any IMS site. Children and pets entering an IMS facility in a vehicle are required to remain in the vehicle during the entire duration of the visit.

    Injuries

    Any injury which is sustained on an IMS site, regardless of severity, must be reported immediately to your IMS Representative, to be treated by a First Aid Officer, and recorded via the Incident Register.

    Consumption of Food and Drinks

    The consumption of food and drink is only permitted in the lunchrooms provided at IMS facilities. For safety reasons, no food is to be consumed in the Workshop, and only sealed plastic water bottles are to be taken into the Workshop.

    Fit for Work

    Employees and visitors share a ‘Fitness for Work’ policy, to ensure your safety and the safety of others, please ensure you understand the following:

    • Your blood alcohol level is 0.00,
    • You are not under the influence or impaired by any legal or illicit drugs,
    • You do not consume any alcohol or drugs while on any IMS premises,
    • You do not bring alcohol or drugs onto any IMS premises,
    • Be aware that you may be requested to undergo a drug and alcohol test if involved in an incident,
    • You are physically and mentally fit to be in a potentially hazardous environment.

    Site Evacuation Instructions

    The likelihood of a Site Evacuation occurring during your visit is unlikely, however, should an emergency evacuation occur, the familiarise with the following steps;

    • Evacuation alarm will be sounded by an IMS employee,
    • Remain calm, and obey the instruction of your IMS Representative,
    • Exit the IMS facility via the safest, direct route,
    • Proceed to the Emergency Assembly Area,
    • Do not leave the facility,
    • Await further instructions.

    Our staff are trained to deal with emergencies, and we request that you give them your full attention, and cooperation, so they may ensure your safety, and the safety of others during an evacuation.

  • Visitor Induction Declaration

    I have received information regarding;
    • Hazards and risks inherent to the IMS Facility
    • Control measures for associated risks
    • Site specific rules which must be followed
    • Safety documents, policies, procedures and plans relevant to the IMS Facility
    • Incident, first aid, emergency, evacuation and injury reporting procedures
    • The layout of the workplace including safe ingress and egress.

Founded in 2008 by Gary Brown IMS quickly grew as a leader providing onsite consultants and maintenance personnel. The doors to the first IMS facility opened in Mackay in 2011. In this time IMS have secured key knowledgeable and experienced members within the industry, all with their own speciality but we all have one thing in common….
